Dreambuilder 16
Dreambuilder Custom Homes completed Dreambuilder 16 in late 2013, a custom-designed, 2600 SF home for Roy and Colleen Cromer. Located in Avalon, this beautiful cottage is just two blocks from the Atlantic Ocean in a new community of custom homes.
Having previously completed the house next door, Dreambuilder 15, Dreambuilder Custom Homes had the opportunity to show the Cromers that home. “Shawn has an artistic eye and is meticulous in his attention to detail,” said Roy Cromer, which resulted in the Cromers hiring Dreambuilder to design and build their home.
The home is a three bedroom, three bath home with a separate study that could be used as a fourth bedroom. The open plan created one large entertaining space between the great room, dining room, kitchen and lanai. Regarding the design, Roy Cromer said “Our home has many extras which are considered part of [the] basic construction package. [The] ceiling detail was especially thoughtful and added to the appeal of our home.”
Custom built-in cabinetry throughout the home was also appealing. In the study, Dreambuilder included a desk and built-in bookshelves; in the great room, a built-in media center and fireplace mantle; in the master bath, built-in linen storage.
The centerpiece of the home is the dramatic, two-story kitchen with vaulted ceiling and wrap-around balcony. A large California island, quartz countertops and GE Profile appliances make for a beautiful and functional kitchen.
The Cromers appreciated the value that Dreambuilder provided in the construction. “Construction materials were of high quality and the six-inch outer walls adding to the R-value [for insulation] were standard, ” said Roy Cromer. “We appreciate the high quality craftsmanship of the subcontractors who worked with Shawn on our home.”
Since the Cromers were in Colorado during most of construction, regular updates were provide via telephone and email, and the Cromers made trips to Jacksonville at specific construction milestones to review progress in person. When asked about their service experience, the Cromers said “Shawn is passionate about his work and made us feel like we were his only clients.”
