Starr® Custom Homes is proud to announce that its project, DreamDesign® 69, has earned a Silver 2025 Best in American Living™ Award (BALA). The awards are presented by the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB). Winners were announced during the NAHB International Builders’ Show in Orlando, Florida.
A National Stage for Design
BALA is the building industry’s premier residential design awards program. It honors the most creative and innovative residential projects in the country. Categories span design, multifamily, offsite construction and remodeling.
This year, NAHB received nearly 650 submissions. Of those, 66 projects earned Gold and 159 earned Silver.
About DreamDesign® 69
DreamDesign® 69 is a 2,176 SF marsh-front contemporary farmhouse on Crane Island in Fernandina Beach. Crane Island is a private community of 113 homesites off the shores of Amelia Island. Much of the island borders protected salt marsh.
Every room in the home faces the tidal marsh. A zero-eave profile and unique massing give the exterior a contemporary look.
Inside, the vaulted great room features a 24′ beamed ceiling and a masonry fireplace. The kitchen includes a built-in breakfast island and Bertazzoni appliances. The home has three bedrooms and three and a half baths. The primary suite and guest suite sit on opposite ends of the home. A separate bunkhouse provides guest or studio space with a private bath.
A Second Major Honor
This is the second major award for DreamDesign® 69. The home also received a 2025 Aurora Award for Best Custom Home from the Florida Home Builders Association (FHBA). The Aurora Awards celebrate excellence in homebuilding and design across the Southeastern United States.
