Interest.com’s weekly survey of major lenders, taken Dec. 8, found the average interest rate for a:

30-year, fixed-rate loan rose to 4.89%, from 4.71% last week. Last year, it was 5.04%.

15-year, fixed-rate loan rose to 4.26% from 4.07%. A year ago, it was 4.47%.

30-year, jumbo loan (for mortgages exceeding $417,000 to $729,750, depending on the city) rose to 5.39% from 5.29%. A year ago, it was 6.00%.

One-year, adjustable-rate loan fell to 4.79% from 4.86%. A year ago, it was 5.39%.

Five-year, adjustable-rate loan rose to 3.85% from 3.74%. A year ago, it was 4.55%.
